Sourcing premium, sustainable bases

At A.Oei Couture, we prioritize natural, premium fabrics, such as silk and cotton, sourced from Japan, South Korea and Italy. Breathable, durable and versatile for different occasions and climates, these natural fibers offer a rich, tactile experience that set them apart from synthetic materials.

Developing Original Textile Artwork

Every custom print begins as an artistic concept developed by founder and designer, Angeline. Drawing inspiration from nature, Angeline uses a variety of mediums — sketching, painting, photographing, digital collage-making — to render the artwork.

Created entirely in-house, the artwork add a layer of storytelling and visual texture to the silhouettes, turning each garment into wearable art.

High-Precision Eco Friendly Digital Printing

Once the artwork is perfected, a partner textile factory in South Korea uses digital textile printing technology to transfer the designs onto the silk and cotton bases.

Our choice of digital printing stems from the sustainability aspects of the technology: 1) digital printing eliminates the heavy water usage required by traditional dyeing methods; 2) the printer injects ink using only the exact amount needed for the design, thereby minimizing ink waste; 3) digital printing is ideal for on-demand, small-batch printing, which reduces textile waste.
